Staff
Elizabeth (Lizzy) Carmichael holds an Illinois Teaching Certification in Elementary Education. She received her Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Stanford University. She brings experience to Chicago Friends School that includes teaching preschool in Taiwan, California and Colorado and student teaching at Baker Demonstration School. Lizzy was our inaugural lead teacher and successfully developed our mission and philosophy into the classroom curriculum. She created a classroom where our youngest through oldest can each learn and develop each at their own pace. Lizzy is currently on maternity leave and plans to return in the fall.
Julia Parkin holds an Illinois Teaching Certification in Elementary Education. She received her Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University. Julia joined Chicago Friends School in the middle of our first year as an assistant teacher and finished the year as a lead teacher.
